MoMA: from permanent collection, just a few which cought my eye 3

How the world end according to the bible. Exstatic, fearful and  intense

 I had never heard of this painter, this picture cought my eye. I did a bit research.
Thompson was an african american paiter born in 1937 in Luisville. He moved to NY, mingled with Jazz musicians, moved to Italy and study old paintings, took a lot of heroin which eventually took his life in 1966. Died so young.

I wonder if his talent of seeing a intense view in life was way too strong and flushey for his own good...
